Stayed at the Monte Carlo for three nights for a Vegas bachelor party. It’s a perfectly fine hotel. True, it is not as spectacular as Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, or Wynn, but nor is it as expensive either. Honestly, we only used our rooms for sleeping anyway (this is Vegas, after all!) and for that, it was more than adequate. My room had a nice king-size bed and a large bathroom, facing the pool and a limited view of the Strip. If you want to take a nap in the afternoon and need absolute silence, I would recommend getting a room that doesn’t face the pool, as the DJ’s music does reverberate up to the highest floors (I was on the 21st floor).
Speaking of the pool area, it’s very nice with a lazy river, wave pool, and beach volleyball court. The main floor has the casino, Blue Man Group show, and various restaurants and lounges. Note that the Monte Carlo does not have a nightclub like many of the other Strip hotels. The food court is a nice touch if you just want to have a quick and cheap meal. McDonald’s is a godsend for a cheap breakfast or for a late night snack.
The hotel is located at the northern end of the South Strip, so it’s very well located. Unlike some of the behemoth properties, it doesn’t take that long to get from your room to the Strip. There is a free train at the back of the hotel that connects you to Crystals and Bellagio. There is also a CVS drug store right next door that sells all the supplies you’ll need for your stay, including booze!
One negative the hotel needs to address is the lack of wifi in the rooms. Only wired internet is provided. This is 2015. The hotel needs to spend a bit of money on routers and signal repeaters so people can have their internet! Other than that though, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

One of the city’s largest pool/water complexes offers a lazy river, a wave tank, a lagoon pool and a hot tub, all open seasonally. The 102,000-square-foot casino is well-stocked with slots and table games, race and sports book, as well as a poker room.
