I stay regularly at the Suncoast. I am a member of their players club – bconnected – and get offers of two free nights per month (no resort fees!) but I stay every other month coming from England. A few months ago I got the room booking confirmation page and noted the confirmation number. I then scrolled down and found a heading – ‘Upgrades available’ or something similar. I clicked on it and found the eStandby scheme where they offer you a suite for a discounted rate if they cannot sell the suite before you arrive. My offered rate may be affected by the fact they are prepared to give me a standard room free. I do not know how long this scheme has been running but I hope they keep it going. Staying in their standard rooms is no hardship though. I accepted their offer for an Executive suite or a Tuscany Suite. For my last three visits I have rattled around in their very nice and large 1800sq ft Tuscany Suites. Their 4 ½ times the size of a Monte Carlo or Mirage room. They have two types. Room 601 had the Tuscany theme. You enter an entrance hall with a toilet room with the Lounge and Bedroom through doors to the left and right. Room 560 opened onto the Lounge with the toilet off to one-side then the Bedroom though double doors. I prefer this style as it makes more room not having the entrance hall. It was contemporary styled.
Do I need a 6 sater Bar or a 8 seat Dining table (only if you have room service) or 4 (or 5 TVs, Room 560 has one in one of the toilets)? No. But I do enjoy the view on three sides. I enjoy the large sofa and TV. I also enjoy the bath tub with its jets, Golf course view and the TV. You can see pictures on their website. Others may make more use of the facilities.
On the smokey-ness. I do not notice the smoke unless someone is sitting in the same bank of slots as me.
When I go to the buffet they always remind me of the closing time when I go near the change over time. This happens often as I have a late lunch and no dinner.
The breakfast buffet as all the usual things – carved ham, omelet station, toast maker, eggs Benedict, pizza and sometimes ham and egg toasted sandwiches. And the server gets your drinks. There are Italian, Mexican and Chinese dishes.
The Lunch buffet has Pork Loin (the times I went) so I usually have that with mashed potato and veg maybe some sweet and sour or orange chicken. I may go up again for chicken. Again they have Italian, Mexican and Chinese stations. They have gelato ice cream.
I have always found the cafe service excellent.
The Deli acts as their 24h coffee shop / cafe.
I get there using the WAX bus after first spending a few days on the Strip then finish my holiday back on the Strip. I use the WAX bus to visit Downtown about 20min away.
