I enjoyed my stay here. A highlight for me was that everybody on staff had very good customer service and a good attitude –from the person who checked us in, to the dealers, sportsbook bet takers, the waitstaff, and bartenders.
Room: Stayed in the Ivory Tower, in a room the front desk said was newly renovated. I have no comparison to make to a non-renovated room, but I could definitely tell that they put some thought into the design and decor of the room. Room was clean, and a decent size. Zero complaints about the room.
Amenities: They charge a resort fee, which it seems like every hotel in Vegas charges now and it includes wi-fi (reliable enough that I could do normal internet browsing from anywhere on the property, not fast enough to stream netflix from my ipad in my room), and access to the fitness room at the Palms as well as the fitness center at the connected Palms Place. The fitness room at the Palms was nicer and bigger than I thought it would be, compared to other hotel fitness centers that I’ve had to pay an additional daily fee on top of the resort fee to use at other places. Had everything I needed to get my regular workout in, so that was nice.
Bars & Restaurants: Cafe 6 over at the Palms Place had pretty good food at decent prices. The Rojo lounge over there had a classy vibe to it. Hooters is standard fare that you would expect from a national chain. As long as the customer service is good, I’m good. They had a chinese restaurant that smelled amazing everytime I walked by but didn’t get to dine here. Maybe next time..
Location: Maybe a couple miles from the strip. Deal breaker depending on your point of view. But this place does have a regular shuttle that will take you to Ceasers Palace and back (available to hotel guests, included in the resort fee)
Other: Movie theater on site. This was a cool amenity to have on site since my wife doesn’t gamble, so being able to just catch a movie to pass some time was an activity that you cannot take advantage of at any other hotel in Vegas I’ve stayed.
All in all, 5 stars for me and I would recommend staying here to anybody that doesn’t mind being off the strip. I personally am not that committed to staying on the strip, especially if a free shuttle is available and the place has the same quality of nightlife and restaurants that a place on the strip would have, but your mileage may vary on that.
