OK – mixed bag review but overall positive.
GVR is one of the upper end of the Stations Casino group. The facility is very attractive. The rooms are huge – I’ve stayed in hotels in Europe where the rooms were smaller than the bathroom at GVR. The room was well appointed, quiet, and they got us in by noon. Lots of nice amenities, like robes.
Issues: Housekeeping was not on its toes-only 1 robe for 2 of us, dirty towel left in the room, carpet needed a vacuum. Obviously in a rush with the conference crowd to get rooms ready. Two problems with the room itself – the clock was off, no big deal, but it turned out the entire electrical line was off and spouse needs it for his sleep apnea devise. A circuit breaker somewhere in the bowels of the hotel had flipped. Maintenance was prompt and it was fixed in about 40 minutes.
The other problem was that the shower stall bar used to close the shower door was broken, making it really hard to close the door. You’d think housekeeping would’ve noticed that and reported it.
The conference rooms and grand ballroom were both comfortable for the large crowds we had. This is a good place for a conference. The food…very unexciting. One of our members does not eat beef – not a vegetarian, merely no beef – and the wait staff was not very helpful until heartily encouraged to come up with a solution by one of our party.
The rates are reasonable and there’s a shuttle both to the airport and to the Strip. The hotel is located right near The District – great shopping.
On a very positive note, there’s a “pond” for kiddies to paddle in, a pool as usual, and two lap lanes (for serious swimmers). Unfortunately, being at a conference, I had no time to take advantage of the resort amenities for which I was charged. On the other hand, there was easy access to free Wifi.

Set on eight sprawling acres and boasting world-class dining and free parking, the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa is a popular choice among our guests. The resort’s Mediterranean-themed decor extends to the art-filled lobby and 490 rooms, which feature Frette Italian linens on oversized beds. However, should you feel like wandering over to the Strip, it’s eight miles away. McCarran International Airport is nine miles away. our guests are captivated by Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa’s “elegant yet casual” decor, “very comfortable” rooms, beautiful grounds and great attention to detail.
