I stayed at the Gold Coast while playing in the WSOP. The Gold Coast is across the street from the Rio, where the WSOP is currently held. I had not stayed at the Gold Coast before, but was pleasantly surprised. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The accommodations are not fancy, about the level of a Holiday Inn.
The buffet was particularly good. It was only about $7.00 for breakfast but it had a large selection of fresh fruit, a make-your-omelet station and a good variety of other dishes. The meal also included juice and coffee. There were a number of other restaurants that looked popular, but I did not get the chance to try them.
As far as gaming, I did not see much in the way of table games. The casino floor seemed to be primarily taken up by machines, although I saw a sign for a bingo room.
The location of the Gold Coast is good. As mentioned, the hotel is proximate to the Rio and the Las Vegas Strip is nearby. There is also a free shuttle to the Orleans. At the same time, the Gold Coast is much less pricier than the hotels on the Strip. The room (two queen-size beds) was around $60 a night.
I plan to stay at the Gold Coast again.
