My husband and I were in LV for a 4 day anniversary trip, of which we stayed at the Cromwell the entire time. One the location is great right in the heart of the strip without too much foot traffic in the building (unlike Caesar’s etc.) We stayed in a suite on the 6th floor, it was never too loud. We were there the tail end of 4th of July weekend and it was never loud as the the other floors suggested. We did ask for a quieter room. Our room was on the Flamingo Dr. side which overlooks the Bellagio fountains which is cool to see without having to leave your room. The room itself was great, the only things as other people had said it is dark…. I read other reviews and I though to myself how dark can dark be…. dark enough! All the bulbs in the fixture have to be 30 watt, and there is some recessed lighting but the room could use some more (finding items in the suitcase with no overhead lighting, was tricky) Would this deter me from staying again? No. There is PLENTY of light at the makeup table which includes a blow dry and flat iron. It’s a great little sitting area and great to get ready at. The bathroom was large and spacious. The rain shower was great. Plenty of draw storage, bed was exceptionally comfortable. Something I noted as important… the window curtains are beyond floor to ceiling as the tops, are recessed up into the window area and completely to the floor which means not a drop of natural or neon light come in through the light blocking curtains, it makes for an excellent nights sleep. We enjoyed the coffee service at the elevators. Steve at the front desk was helpful and Mike the bell hop was super helpful and very kind. When we were checking out the Cromwell has just signed a contract with a limo service, so we got a free shuttle to the airport courtesy of the Cromwell. If you looking for a smaller more personal experience, and don’t want to march across your hotel to get to the hotel elevators…or want a million tourists cutting you off in the lobby while trying to take pictures etc. than this is the place for you. This is definitely geared towards adults, I would not recommend for families traveling with kids.
