We were here for one night only, just driving through and we just wanted a place to sleep. We didn’t use the casino at all, so I can’t comment on that, but it did seem quite large.
We had a room with two queen sized beds on the 6th floor. The room was clean and looked updated. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. Our only negatives for the room was that the curtains don’t shut out all the night. (You know how bright Vegas can be!) We also thought the walls were too thin, more on that later. There was a large tv with an impressive number of channels. You were also able to use your tv to do things like check out, contact the front desk and check your account. I did notice there was no coffee maker- since we are not coffee drinkers, that didn’t bother me one bit, but it might matter for others.
The bathroom was large with quite a bit of counter space to spread your things out on. We did use the bath products they had set out and they were great. My hair smelled great and was very soft. I noticed there were only two towels in the hotel room, which wasn’t a problem for us since there were two of us, but if there are more in your group, you might want to request more towels when you check in. The only negative for the bathroom was that my son took a bath and felt the back of the tub was very uncomfortable for taking a soak. He said there was no where to rest your head due to the sharp angle of the tub there, it was just a hard corner.
When we checked in, we were asked what room type we wanted and I just said ‘quiet’ since we were exhausted after running a marathon and just wanted sleep. So they put me in a room with no one above me and far from the elevators. It certainly was nice and quiet all night, but the next morning just before 8 am, we were awakened by the sound of talking coming from next door. There was 2-3 women over there who didn’t seem to be especially loud, it sounded like regular talking and laughing. We shouldn’t have heard that. In my opinion, the walls were a bit on the thin side. While we would have liked to sleep until 9 or 10, I am just grateful the neighbors didn’t get up earlier or wake us in the middle of the night, but in my opinion, we shouldn’t have heard regular talking, so the walls are too thin.
There were quite a number of places to eat in the hotel/casino. We planned to go to the buffet breakfast the next morning, but there was a line just to get in the door, so we ate at the Cafe instead. Service there was great and we enjoyed the food. The servings are quite large there. We also grabbed an apple fitter for the road and ate that later in the day.
The service was great. I interacted with the front desk twice over the phone after checking in and both times they were very friendly and helpful. I had issues getting my laptop to connect to the internet and they had IT support to help with that. It took a four minute phone call to get my issue resolved- he was also friendly.
As we were leaving, we bumped into the maid and spoke to her briefly. We had run a marathon the day before and were stiff and sore. She noticed the way we were walking and when we told her why, she got us bags to fill with ice for impromptu ice packs for the road. It worked great.
We accidentally left my sons fitbit at the hotel. We realized 15 minutes after we left and we called the hotel about it. They transferred us to housekeeping and they quickly found it and had it ready for us when we returned. So between that and the ice packs, I feel we had great service from the housekeeping department!
Our biggest negative was that we were on a non smoking floor but we could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway and also in our bathroom in the morning.
